dallas bloggers

Besides my friend Thao's, and the very popular but not really my style Sea of Shoes, I didn't know about many local blogs. But recently I have discovered so many great blogs done by Dallas girls. Here are some of my favorites....

rangers!

I am definitely not claiming to be a sudden sports fan, but I really want the rangers to win the World Series. It's no secret I love almost everything about Texas, but am not really a huge sports person. I hate the Cowboys, like the Mavericks, and love the Rangers. No matter how uninterested you are in sports you can't not like them. They are just so likable! I probably would have never started going if Nick wouldn't have taken me to a game for our first date. I kept going because I loved the food, but now I really love the team too. Here are a few pictures of my favorite player.
Hopefully they will win tomorrow!

in and out

In and Out Burger opened here a few weeks ago and we finally tried it this weekend. It was definitely good, but not as amazing as I was expecting. They have opened a few throughout DFW and the wait is always ridiculous! I can't believe people wait over an hour for fast food. We didn't look into the "secret menu" until after we went, so maybe that is the key. Also of course I didn't take a picture, so I had to use Thao's. She made it look so yummy!

seriously??

A few months ago when we were eating at Villa O they were also filming a reality show there. Since I am obsessed with reality TV I had my boyfriend ask what is was for and they told him... Bravo! So of course I was very excited because that's pretty much my favorite channel. But I guess Most Eligible Dallas is the show and it looks so bad. I mean I am definitely not saying they should have cast me. I am not single and my favorite activity on the weekends is laying in bed, but still! The one thing this city is full of is really cute, interesting, fun people, especially the girls. Based on the preview these people look beyond boring and so cheesy to me. Of course I will still watch every episode.

Watch the preview here.

bubble bar

One of the most fun days I have ever had was a few years ago at Mumm Napa in Napa Valley. We had so much fun on the entire trip, but this was by far my favorite place while there. Ever since then I have loved champagne, so I was really excited to hear about Bubble Bar opening in Uptown. It's a really great location and champagne on tap! I decided to try it this weekend with my boyfriend (he's not a champagne person, at all). The decor was cheesy because everything was in the shape of a bubble, but other then that the concept was actually really neat. If you like champagne then I definitely recommend going there at least once!
It even looks cute just sitting in the glass!

we're moving...again

So we just moved 6 months ago, but recently found out we have to move again due to some issues with our current building. Even though it's super annoying to actually move again, I am excited about our new place. We are moving downtown (pretty much the only place I haven't lived in all of DFW) into the Dallas Power and Light building. I am also excited about this picture I will be purchasing for the new apartment. I have actually been wanting this for awhile, but they just made one for Dallas. It's perfect!

i ♥ dallas

It's official...

H&M is coming to Northpark and DVF is opening in Highland Park Village. I'm so excited! I already love this town so much and it just keeps getting better and better. In the 8 years I have lived here I have had a few moments of wanting to move, but it would be so hard for me to actually do it. If we get a Topshop, Crumbs, and Queenies then I'm pretty much guaranteed to never leave.

i'm weird about my birthday

Most people love their birthday and make big plans, I on the other hand kind of hate mine. Most of the time when something involves me getting a present I love it, but not my birthday. This year I decided to spend the day doing my 3 favorite things: shopping, eating out, and watching movies.

We started the day having breakfast at Breadwinners. It's a restaurant in Uptown with really good food and a really cute atmosphere.
We ended up spending the majority of the day at our 2 favorite hangouts, Highland Park Village and Northpark Mall. I don't know if people realize how great Dallas shopping has become in the last few years. Most people don't think of Dallas as a shopping destination, but so many great stores have opened since I moved here. See a list of stores and restaurants at Highland Park Village & Northpark Center

We ended the night having dinner at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Mi Cocina , and seeing Alice in Wonderland.

It wasn't the typical birthday, but it definitely ended up being my favorite. I'm not even dreading next years.
