my birthday!

Today is my birthday and I can't believe I am so old. I have major issues with my own birthday because I just don't like to make a big deal out of it. I normally don't even like people to know its my birthday! But this year was actually really fun, probably my most fun birthday yet. My mom was in town on Friday and we all went to eat at The Porch. Then on Saturday Nick and I went to brunch and ended up spending the rest of the day at one of my favorite bars in Dallas. I also got some really cute summer clothes. A white maxi dress from my mom and a Michelle Mason tank top and white blazer from Nick. Plus Nick's mom got me tickets to Miranda Lambert. I have been dying to see her in concert for years!

I have an abnormal obsession with Friday Night Lights and Tim Riggins, so Nick surprised me with this t-shirt too.

ou football

I cannot believe it is already football season again. I definitely wouldn't call myself a football fan. The only team I have ever been invested in was the fictional Dillon Panters. I much prefer basketball or tennis and honestly hate the NFL. But everyone around me (except my sisters) is sooo into it that I am going to try and have a better attitude this year. Plus there are a few things I am excited about...

couch picnic?

We pretty much always stay in on Friday nights and it is actually my favorite day of the week. We always get our favorite meal, the flank steak from EatZi's. I don't even love meat, but its literally the best steak ever! {recipe here}
Then we watch Friday Night Lights. I am not really loving it this season, but hoping it will get better. Plus I have to watch the final season. I miss Tim and Lyla!
